Port Melbourne to Dandenong South

After the winds and choppy seas in Devonport yesterday afternoon our crossing of Bass Strait ended up being very smooth and I didn’t need to take any seasick tablets after all.

We disembarked from the Spirit of Tasmania and joined the Twaotts on the Esplanade for a cup of tea whilst watching the Sea Odyssey and the Queen Victoria dock behind the Spirit.

As it was barely light we spent an hour or so watching the news helicopters circle the cruise ships before we headed off around Port Phillip Bay.

Zoom into the map and use the 'Satellite' layer to see our new location.

Left to right - Queen Victoria, Sea Odyssey, Spirit of Tasmania. We thought all the media helicopter attention was for the larger Queen Victoria but we later learnt it was for the smaller Sea Odyssey where passengers were paying US$60,000 each for a trip around the world!
