Fitzroy Crossing

After getting to sleep about 2.30 this morning we slept in until 8.30. After breakfast I called a B & B in Broome that we had found out about yesterday, and booked in for three nights from Thursday. We will begin our ride to Broome tomorrow. It should take us three and a half days.

We then went to the caravan park office and paid for our accommodation. We were given a 10% discount voucher for the supermarket. It appears that it is managed by the same people who manage the caravan park. We needed to top up our food supplies for the next few days so the voucher came in handy.

A couple of months back the Fitzroy Supermarket and Post office burnt down as the result of an electrical fault and it presently operates out of the town’s basketball hall. Apparently there will be a new $5 million shopping complex built in Fitzroy Crossing to replace it, which will lift the facilities in the town considerably.

Zoom into the map and use the 'Satellite' layer to see our new location.
