Clairview, Sarina

We didn’t hurry to get away this morning even though we had a 90km ride ahead of us. We eventually left Clairview at 9.45am. The road towards Sarina was very good most of the way and there was not much traffic. Twenty kilometres from Clairview we came across signs for an ice cream shop at Flaggy Rock. This meant a rest stop of course. As well as homemade natural ice cream, the shop sells coffee, cakes and light meals. Hans and Janice Plessing who own and run the business are very interesting people to talk to and we ended up staying there for more than an hour.

We stopped at Ilbilbie for lunch and because we had spent so much time talking this morning it was 2.30 by the time we started on the remaining 40km to Sarina. From Koumala we found the going a bit hard. The road surface was still reasonably good, but we seemed to have a head wind from time to time. We arrived at Sarina at 5pm and went to the Sarina Palms Caravan Village for the night.

Zoom into the map and use the 'Satellite' layer to see our new location.
