Still in Caloundra at Denise’s parents place!

Some good news from home this evening, Andrew obtained second place in B grade in the 2009 Tour of Canberra. It must be his cycling pedigree as his parents do similar distances whilst pulling a 30kg trailer! But we will not discuss the differences in time. We always wonder if his interest in cycling started before he was born as Denise kept cycling on our tandem when she was pregnant with him.

We are coming to the end of our one week stay and of course the weather forecast is for rain on and off over the next week.

For the last couple of days Denise has been finishing off work that was not completed before we left Canberra. This has now been packaged up and is ready for posting back home on Tuesday. Next trip Denise is talking about bringing her own laptop so we are not both fighting for time on the one machine – but this will mean more weight to carry! I think we have enough already.

We have also used the time to archive all of our photos and video clips from the first 30 days and posted two copies to differerent addresses for backup purposes.

We have started to plot our path north and will be leaving Caloundra on Monday, unless there is torrential rain. We are working on approximately five days riding with two days off each week and have a route plotted for the next 10 days.

After a nice break we are both ready and looking forward to getting back on the road again.

Zoom into the map and use the 'Satellite' layer to see our new location.

Croquet anyone?
