Bowen

Before breakfast we went for a walk along the Bowen Jetty. This afternoon we decided to go back up Flagstaff Hill for afternoon tea at the café. We took the opportunity to take a side trip to Dalrymple Point which is just below and to the south of Flagstaff Hill with views across the mouth of the Port of Bowen. We discovered a small plaque indicating the location of the original pilots flagstaff. As there is no flagstaff on Flagstaff Hill we wonder if the hill is named after this flagstaff at its foot. We spent a very relaxed hour or so at the café before returning to the caravan park and a swim in the pool before finishing the packing for tomorrow.

Zoom into the map and use the 'Satellite' layer to see our new location.
