Cairns

We spent most of the morning working on clients’ projects. Hopefully that is the end of the work for now.

We got a mention on ABC Radio this morning. There were a couple of stories about cycling and we decided to send an email endorsing the comments from one of the interviews. The interview was with Jack Griffin from Brisbane who is planning a ride from Brisbane to Cairns. Jack is 85. He has also ridden around Australia 3 times in the last 20 years. That is an inspiration! Jack made the comment that as long as you are active you do not have to be that fit to begin a cycle trip around Australia as you can gain your fitness along the way. Like us he was encouraging others to get out and try it.

We also added our views on how to prevent getting a “numb bum” - another topic of discussion about bike riding earlier in the morning. Our solution is to use B17 Brooks saddles that have been on the market unchanged for over 100 years and not to use the modern so called “comfort” saddles.

Very surprisingly within 15 minutes of sending the email it was read out on air along with details about our website. Listen to Fiona Sewell's comments.

In the afternoon we went into the city to pick up a set of replacement brake hoods for Mark’s bike and posted a package of bits and pieces back home. We had a late lunch on the Esplanade.

Zoom into the map and use the 'Satellite' layer to see our new location.
