Day 071, Monday, 8 June 2009

Townsville

We had a good sleep in and then later in the morning went for a walk along “The Strand”. It is very picturesque and lots of people were out enjoying themselves – swimming in the sea, playing under the large bucket splasher, laying in the parks and sitting in the different cafes and restaurants. We decided this is what other people must do when they are not riding their bikes.

We stopped at Juliettes for coffee and the shade from the tree out the front was a nice contrast to the temperature in the direct sun.

Lunch was at the Kissing Point end of The Strand at The Rockpool Café where we both had a nice piece of fish.

Later in the afternoon we walked down to the supermarket to pick up supplies for the evening meal and the next couple of days. A slow relaxed day before hitting the road again tomorrow.

Zoom into the map and use the 'Satellite' layer to see our new location.
